Personal data protection

Privacy Notice

This notice has been prepared in accordance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) to explain how La'Vera İstanbul processes the personal data of guests who visit its website, make a reservation request or contact us. Your personal data is processed by the data controller whose details are given below.

Last updated: October 10, 2026

This is a translation for information purposes; the Turkish version prevails.

01Personal data we process

Identity data: Your first name and surname.

Contact data: Your telephone number and, if you choose to share it, your email address.

Reservation data: Date, time, number of guests, special occasion details and your reservation note.

Feedback data: The message, subject and visit date you enter in the suggestion and complaint form and, if you would like us to get back to you, your email address or telephone number.

Technical data: When you visit the website, technical data such as your IP address and browser information are processed by hosting and content delivery providers so that the website can be delivered to you. We do not record this information.

If you mention an allergy or dietary preference in your reservation note, this information may qualify as health data. We use it solely to prepare a service suited to you; sharing it is entirely voluntary.

02Purposes of processing

  • To receive and assess your reservation request and inform you of the outcome
  • To contact you regarding your reservation and to manage changes and cancellations
  • To prepare a service suited to your special occasion and dietary preferences
  • To respond to your questions, suggestions and complaints
  • To ensure the security of the website and resolve technical issues
  • To fulfil our legal obligations and respond to requests from competent authorities

03Legal grounds and method of collection

Your personal data is processed on the legal grounds that it is necessary for the establishment and performance of the reservation (Article 5(2)(c) of the KVKK), that it is necessary to fulfil our legal obligations (Article 5(2)(ç)), and that it is necessary for our legitimate interests, provided that this does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms (Article 5(2)(f)). Health data you share in your reservation note is processed on the basis of your explicit consent (Article 6).

Data is collected through the reservation form on our website, WhatsApp, telephone, email and face-to-face communication at the restaurant, by partly automated and partly non-automated means.

The reservation form does not store your information on our own servers: when you submit the form, your information opens as a ready-to-send message to us in the WhatsApp app on your device and only reaches us once you send that message. Confirmed reservations are recorded in our reservation software, which runs locally at our restaurant and does not transfer data over the internet.

In the suggestion and complaint form, you choose how your message is sent. If you choose WhatsApp, your message opens as a ready-made WhatsApp message without being stored, just like the reservation form. If you choose email, your message is saved in our website's database and forwarded to our business email address. You may also send this form without giving your name or contact details.

04Transfer of personal data

Your personal data is not sold and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Limited to the purposes above and in accordance with the conditions set out in Articles 8 and 9 of the KVKK, it may be transferred to the following parties:

  • WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.): When you send your reservation request or feedback via WhatsApp, your messages reach us through this service, whose servers are located outside Türkiye.
  • Hosting and content delivery services: Our website is hosted on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) and served via the infrastructure of Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). When you visit the website, technical information such as your IP address is processed by these providers.
  • Feedback sent by email: When you choose email in the suggestion and complaint form, your message is stored in our database on Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) servers and forwarded to us through our email service provider.
  • Google Maps (Google Ireland Ltd.): The map on the contact page is provided by Google; when the map loads, your IP address and browser information are transmitted to Google, and Google may use cookies.
  • Competent public authorities and institutions: Upon request by legally authorised authorities and to the extent requested.

05Retention period

Our website does not store your reservation data. Records in our reservation software and correspondence conducted via WhatsApp, telephone or email are retained for a maximum of 1 year from the reservation date. Messages you send through the suggestion and complaint form by choosing email are automatically deleted from our database 1 year after they are sent. Where legislation requires a longer retention period, that period applies. Once the period expires, your data is erased, destroyed or anonymised.

06Cookies

Our website does not use cookies for advertising or visitor tracking and contains no analytics tools. When the Google Maps section on the contact page loads, Google may use its own cookies; you can find information about these cookies in Google's privacy policy. You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings.

07Your rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK, you have the right to:

  • Learn whether your personal data is being processed
  • Request information about it if it has been processed
  • Learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in accordance with that purpose
  • Know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it has been transferred
  • Request rectification if it has been processed incompletely or inaccurately
  • Request its erasure or destruction under the conditions set out in Article 7 of the KVKK
  • Request that rectification, erasure and destruction be notified to the third parties to whom the data has been transferred
  • Object to an outcome to your detriment arising from analysis exclusively by automated systems
  • Claim compensation if you suffer damage as a result of unlawful processing

You can exercise these rights by applying to the data controller.
